TREES AND PLANTS

FINNISH COLLEAGUES VISIT

During September two Finnish teachers who couldn’t visit us with the rest of the group, visited our school.

They stayed here from 8 to 10 of September. We prepared a week plan in order to show them our school, country, trees…

ECO-GARDEN

After Poland Meeting we started to work in the second part of the Project: The Eco-garden.

We made an Eco-garden in the school in a little part of the playground. We cultivated different types of plants. Plants that usually grow in Asturias.

Because this is an environmental Project, we don`t use any chemical products as fertilizers, insecticides …Instead of this we always use natural products. For example we use water with nettles as insecticides.
 

The Eco-garden is going to be running during the project and we wait it continuous in the next years.

We planted tomatoes, garlics, peas, onions, beans, peppers, strawberries, potatoes, cabbages, lettuces and parsley by the moment. We have used the harvest to the school canteen.
 

We think that it is a useful activity because pupils learn and develop many different competences: for example they study the relationship between the phases of the moon and when we must plant the vegetables. Now, they already know the correct time of the year when we must do it and when they must collected it.  And of course, the different jobs that we need to do during the year: remove soil, plant, watering, cut…

All pupils take part in this experience. Eating their own products is a satisfaction for them.

MEETING IN POLAND

The second meeting was in Poland, from 24^th to 28^th of February.

We started the visit in the school where our partners had prepared a great and typical reception including dances and sings, made for the students.

We could know different things about Polish Education, and share some time with Polish pupils, even we could visit a kindergarden, where we had a very nice welcome too.

We showed the work about the first part of the project and we decided what to do in the second part until the next meeting in Turkey.

During this week we felt really comfortable and we had the opportunity to know friendly people, in the school, in the kindergarden, in the Town Hall, in the Air Force Academy…And of course, it was really nice for us to see our Polish, Finnish and Turkish partners again.

We also visited beautiful villages and cities: Pulawy, Wojciechów, Lublin, Kazimierz, Varsovia...

It was an interesting experience that it was possible thanks to our Polish partners.
