After Poland Meeting we started to work in the
second part of the Project: The Eco-garden.
We made an Eco-garden in the school in a little
part of the playground. We cultivated different types of plants. Plants that
usually grow in Asturias.
Because this is an environmental Project, we don`t use any chemical products as fertilizers, insecticides …Instead of this we always use natural products. For example we use water with nettles as insecticides.

The Eco-garden is going to be running during
the project and we wait it continuous in the next years.
We planted tomatoes, garlics, peas, onions,
beans, peppers, strawberries, potatoes, cabbages, lettuces and parsley by the
moment. We have used the harvest to the school canteen.
We think that it is a useful activity because pupils learn and develop many different competences: for example they study the relationship between
the phases of the moon and when we must plant the vegetables. Now, they already know the
correct time of the year when we must do it and when they must collected it. And of course, the different jobs that we
need to do during the year: remove soil, plant, watering, cut…
All pupils take part in this experience. Eating their own products is a satisfaction for them.
